On Monday, September 26, 2022, Larry Cooper, loving father passed away at the age of 81.
Larry was born on Oct. 26, 1940, in Chattanooga, to Thomas Grady and Nannie Bell McDaris Cooper. After earning an associate’s degree in electronics at Chattanooga State College, he began his career at Radio and Appliance and in the early days of color television, he gained a reputation as the best electronic technician in Chattanooga. On June 30, 1990, he married Joyce Clonts LaFollette. They happily retired together in Apison, Tn.
Larry was a lifelong fisherman and enjoyed taking family on his pontoon boat on Chickamauga Lake. He and his wife Joyce took many road trips throughout rural Tennessee and Georgia. He was a devoted caregiver to his wife and to his mother. His needs were simple, a fishing rod, cable television, faithful friends, and the company of family. If it was broken, he would find a way to fix it.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, his father, Thomas Grady, his mother, Nannie Bell, and his six siblings.
He is survived by his three children, Anita (Scott) Wright, Susan Sinclair and Lebron Cooper, step-children William B. Lafollette (Mitzi) and Rick L. Lafollette (Rene), grandchildren Caroline Wright, Thomas Wright, Mackenzie Sinclair, Madison Sinclair, Tyler Lafollette, Adam Lafollette, Kate Lafollette Prisk, and Mason Lafollette, Jordan Maloney, Tyler Kelly, and Timothy Kelly.
