Johnnie S. Ledwell, 83, of Benton, departed this life peacefully on January 28, 2023 at a local hospital.
She was born on Aug. 8, 1939 in Benton to the late James L. and Nettie Bazzell Parker, Sr.
Ms. Ledwell was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, a faithful and loving grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was an excellent cook. She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, James and Nettie Bazzell, she was preceded by her beloved husband, Bill Ledwell; and siblings, James L. Parker, Hubert Parker, Willie Ray Parker Sr., Harry Parker and Juanita Dacus.
Left to cherish the many memories include her beloved daughter, Michelle Runyon, Rebecca Cass, Kevin (Debbie) Key, Jeff (Ann) Harrod and Anthony (Haley) Ledwell; and sister, Mary (Buddy) Waters. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Reverend Lowell Hicks and Pastor John Cain officiating. A committal service will be held privately at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Family and friends will gather from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
