Howard Meyers, SSGT USMC Ret., 74, died Saturday morning, Jan. 18, 2003, at a local hospital.
Mr. Meyers retired from the United States Marine Corps. and Sears. He was a member of Spring Creek Road Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Alma Meyers; and son, William Arthur Meyers.
He was survived by his wife of 48 years, Jackie Meyers, East Ridge; sons, James Meyers, Ooltewah, and Robert Meyers, Orlando, FL; daughter, Amanda Smith, South Pittsburg, Tenn.; sisters, Barbara Ellis, Ft. Worth, Texas, and Naomi Verrett, Hawthorne, Fla.; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Clay officiating.
Interment will follow at National Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Monday from 5-9 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.
