Cleveland, Boyd-Buchanan Record Soccer Wins

Cleveland, just coming off Spring Break, played their first game of the season hosting Morristown West. After a 0-0 first half, Cleveland defeated the visitors 3-1 to begin the season at 1-0. In other action Boyd-Buchanan traveled to Rhea County and came away with a 7-1 win.

At Cleveland, Max Arzay put Cleveland on the board first midway throught the second half with a double assist by Ryan McClurken and Jorge Rocha. Morristown West evened the score at one with a goal five minutes later by Daniel Philmore.

Cleveland took the lead with another goal by Arzay, this time unassisted. Jared McAlpine scored the final goal of the game with an assist by Lee Grisham.

David Gonzalas had 13 saves for Cleveland. Cleveland fired 17 shots on goal.

At Rhea County, Boyd-Buchanan's Andrew Pritchard scored three goals in the 7-1 win. Michael Campbell, Chase Morgan, Ryan Campbell and Patrick Armstrong also had goals. Morgan, Todd Gould, Armstrong and M. Campball all had one assist.
