Bruce Benson, of Chattanooga, and formerly of Jackson, Tn., died on Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, at a local hospital.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Nathaniel Benson.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Betty Benson; son, Mr. Bretton Benson; grandson, Brenston Benson, of Chattanooga; mother, Mrs. Majorie Benson, of Jackson, Tn.; three sisters, Ms. Dyka Benson, of Mason, Ohio, Ms., Bernita Benson, of Lansing, Mi., and Mrs. Linda (Rodney) Stokes, of East Lansing, Mi.; in-laws, Mrs. Charlotte (Amos) Perry, Mrs. Cozette Rittenberry, Mrs. Veronica Pollard, Mrs. Susan (Elliott) Wills, Mrs. Ellen Nobel and Mr. Sterling Pollard; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; cousins; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, at Thompkin Chapel AME Zion Church, 812 Palmetto St., Chattanooga, with Pastor C.J. Gant officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.
Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
