Eddie Lynn Akins, 51, of Ooltewah, died on March 25, 2009.

His home church was Freedom Church of God.

Eddie was employed at Akins Construction. He was a Mason and served as the Master of the Harrison Masonic Lodge #114.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Raymond and Margaret Akins; two brothers, Ronnie and Curtis Akins.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Akins; children, Gary (Talisha) Akins, Joseph Akins and Katelyn Akins, all of Ooltewah; six brothers, Ray, Glenn, Nicky, Clark, Wayne, and Keith Akins; three sisters, Judy Harris, Annie Jo Neely and Becky Tallent; two grandchildren, Alexander and Nathan Akins; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Hwy. 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home. Interment and Masonic Service will follow in the New McDonald Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-9 p.m., on Friday all day up to 9 p.m., and on Saturday up to the hour of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for contributions be made to the Freedom Church of God, 9844 Hwy. 58, Ooltewah, Tn. 37363.

Turner Funeral Home, Inc., Hwy. 58 Chapel, is in charge of arrangements, 622-3171.
