According to Mike Butler with the Tennessee Wildlife Federation, an effort by a Senate Committee to gut Wildlife & Conservation Funding has been averted.
Butler writes, "Your quick action late (Thurday) yesterday afternoon made a difference.
"Yesterday evening the Senate Finance Ways and Means Committee voted 9-2 to restore all the Real Estate Transfer Funds, over the objections of the Committee's Chair. This means that the following vitally important conservation funds go into the budget conference committee with strong support from the House and the Senate.
"It is VERY important that we all take a little time this morning and throughout the day to send thank you's to those Senate Finance Committee members who stood with us, made the hard decisions and voted to support these funds. They have earned and deserve our thanks."
