Jeanette Lou Ledford, 79, of the Dawnville Community, in Whitfield County, GA, died Saturday morning, July 27, 2013 at the Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.

Jeanette was a graduate of Valley Point High School and the Chattanooga Business School.  She worked many years as a bookkeeper at Meadowbrook Carpet and at the Wooddale Health Care.  She was a member of the South Cohutta Baptist Church where she was the bookkeeper and sang many years in the choir.  She loved to crochet, read, shop, garden, and as her family said “run the roads”.  But the true love of her life was her Savior, Jesus Christ and her family.  She loved them deeply.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Karen Ledford and Alan and Lisa Ledford; grandchildren, Carli Ledford, Cole Ledford, William Taylor Ledford and Cale Ledford; sisters-in-law, Bertha Henson and Ruth Cargal; nieces and nephews, Pat Carlock, Jim and Yvonne Ware, Bob and Nancy Hetrick, Angela Ware, George Ware and Susan Cargal; special friends, Okeema Hammontree, Mary Brackett, Linda Powell, Harold and Bonitta Ledford; and numerous friends and relatives in North Carolina and Ohio.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Jeanette Lou Ledford will be held Monday, July 29, at 2 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with her pastor, Reverend Adam Warren and Reverend Author Corbin officiating.  She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the West Hill Cemetery with Dave Senters, Larry Chasteen, Danny Burgess, Eddie Hammontree, Chris Banks and Adam Banks serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 12-2 p.m. on Monday, July 29.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the South Cohutta Baptist Church, P.O. Box 458, Cohutta, GA, 30710.
