United Health Care Vs Erlanger

  • Wednesday, November 12, 2014

As everyone knows Erlanger is an outstanding hospital.  They offer the most advanced treatments by some of the most highly qualified professionals in our area.

United Health Care is apparently threatening to stop covering treatments provided by this facility.  I have followed this fiasco in the news and it is apparently being done because UHC on made $450 million in profit in 2012 in Tennessee alone, and $490 million in profit in 2013 in Tennessee alone.  Furthermore, it appears this "dropping" of Erlanger as a provider is based on Obstetrics and Pediatric care.

If a doctor or facility fails to treat everyone with the best care they deserve it opens them up for malpractice lawsuits.  I don't think UHC cares about that, only their profit margins and making their stockholders happy.

This is a disgusting situation and I hope UHC comes to their senses.
