The 3rd Annual RBG Ball (Red, Black & Green) will be held on Saturday, June 1 at the Church On Main, 1601 Rossville Ave.
This year the the Black Tie Ball will serve as the kick-off/fundraiser for the Chattanooga Festivals Of Black Arts & Ideas' year-long series of festivals. Doors open at 6 p.m., with a cocktail hour. At 7 p.m. the meal will be served, which includes dry aged prime rib of beef w/ chimichurri or au jus, summer corn spoon bread, grilled broccoli and glazed local mushroom prepared by celebrity chef Kenyatta Ashford.
At 7:45 p.m. we be the introduction of six historical African kings and queens who will be available for public appearances, birthday parties and school visits throughout the year. Beginning at 8 p.m., celebration of black excellence in the arts will begin with the 3rd Annual Black Arts Awards. From 9-11 p.m., guests will dance the night away.
This year’s theme is "All Red," and guests are asked to dress to the nines in their best formal red attire.
The ticket price includes entry into the cash bar cocktail hour, a three-course gourmet meal, the 3rd Annual Black Arts Awards, and dancing. The Black Arts Awards honors six black artists in visual arts, dance, music, literary arts, film and theatre.
