James Neighbors
James A. “Jim” Neighbors, 69, of Ooltewah, died on Thursday, December 18, 2014.
He was a graduate of Kirkman High School class of 1963 and attended Tennessee Tech. Jim was a Vietnam veteran from 1967-1968, serving with the Red Horse Combat Construction Group of the U.S. Air Force. He retired from TVA with 32 years of service where he worked at all TVA Nuclear and Fossil Plants. Jim was a member of the Brainerd Masonic Lodge # 736 F&AM, Scottish Rite, York Rite, Eastern Star, Red Fez Shrine Club and Alhambra Shrine, where he was a member of the parade unit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. T. and Rosella Neighbors.
Survivors include his daughters, Jamie Braggs (Daniel) and Jasmine Londer (Larry); brothers, Jerry R. Neighbors (Judy) and Danny R. Neighbors (Gail), niece, Christina Neighbors and four grandchildren.
Services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 23, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at National Cemetery.
Visitation is on Sunday, Dec. 21, from 2-6 p.m. and Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
