Velma C. Jones, 102, of Dalton, GA, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Hamilton Medical Center.

She was born January 10, 1912 in Tunnel Hill, GA to the late Thomas and Lillian Waters; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Allen Jones, Sr.; five children, Wayne, Sarah Lillian, Robert “Bobby”, Virgil A. Jones, Sr. and Edward Lamar Jones; eight sisters; and five brothers.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathryn J. (Henry) McDade; one daughter-in-law, Maureen D. Jones; 12 grandchildren, Roy Mack, Shonta Mack, Michael R. Towns, Pamela P. Allen, Henry A. McDade, Mickey McDade, Darren R. McDade, Carol Levy, Crystal Watters, Sarah Ortiz, Velma Jones-White and Virgil A. Jones, III; 20 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Homegoing Service for Mrs. Velma A. Jones will be held Sunday, December 28, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Ridge Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry D. Jones, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 27 at the funeral home from 5-6 p.m.

Arrangements are by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton.
