Patricia Sue ”Patsy” Magrath Phillips died on April 14, 2014 at Red Bank Life Care.
She was born in Jamestown, N.Y. on Aug. 28, 1929.
She was the daughter of the late Richard Hardy and Susie Greenwood Magrath.
Survivors include her husband, Paul C. Phillips, Jr. of Chattanooga; daughter, Sue Phillips Wilcox (Roy) of Forest, Va.; sons, Christopher Magrath Phillips (Libby) of Chattanooga, Dick Phillips (Alicia) of Chattanooga, and Paul Hardy Darring of Atlanta. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Ashley Lauren Wilcox, Brian Christopher Wilcox, Amber Nicole Phillips, Kayla Danielle Phillips and Landon Chase Phillips.
Patsy attended the University of Illinois where she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She was a member of Rivermont Presbyterian Church, where she served as deacon. Patsy also served as area leader for 30 years for Recovery, Inc, which is a self-help mental health organization. She served as volunteer at Erlanger Hospital and the Community Kitchen.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, at Rivermont Presbyterian Church with Reverend Clayton Thomas officiating.
Visitation hours will be on Monday, April 21, from 5–7 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Chattanooga Alzheimer’s Association or Rivermont Presbyterian Church.
