Masingill, Benjamin (Cleveland)

Benjamin “Ben” Masingill, 79, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in a Chattanooga health care facility. 

Mr. Masingill was the son of the late Edith Roberts Masingill and Edgar Masingill; and was also preceded in death by his sister, Minnie Masingill; and his brothers, Arlin and Lee Masingill.

Mr. Masingill worked for many years with Cleveland Plastics in Maintenance, also with A. R. Knits and he also did custodial work with North Cleveland Church of God. He loved the outdoors and especially working in his vegetable garden. Mr. Masingill loved his family and he was a member of Washington Baptist Church where he was involved with the youth choir for many years.

Survivors include his sons, Benjie Masingill and Richie Elliot; his daughter, Amy Wilcox; his four grandchildren; his sister, Violet Easterly and her husband Joe; his brother, James Masingill; and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Saturday, July 19, at 2 p.m. from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Johnny Townsend officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Ten Mile, TN with family and friends serving as casket bearers. 

The Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes has charge of the arrangements.
