Aurelia Myers, 96, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014 at her home from natural causes.  

She was born in 1917 in Cleveland, OH where she resided for 40 years.  She was a women’s designer dress buyer for Halle Bros Department Store.  She and her husband Bill moved with their daughter, Patricia to Ft. Myers Beach in 1954 and bought the Surf Club Bar, one of only two on the entire beach.  They owned and operated this landmark for 4 years.  She later used her love of fashion to start her own Nu Mode Dress Shops which she owned and operated for over 20 years in Ft. Myers, FL.  Aurelia loved her family, friends, dancing, and decorating her many homes.  She retired in 1986. 

Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William P. Myers; sister, Elizabeth (Marvin) Draeger; brother, Louis (Alice) Boldan, Jr.; and nephews, Roger (Emily) Viland & Gary Boldan.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Gerald) Smart; grandchildren, William Smart and Robert (Vicki) Smart; great-grandchildren, Emily Smart and Tanner Smart; nephews, Fred (Gerry) Draeger; and Michael Boldan; and niece Deborah (John) Blair. 

There will be no services at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to home Health Care of East Tennessee, Inc., and Hospice.

Arrangements are by the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
