Willie "Granny" Burnette, 75, of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, August 28, 2014.

She had lived in the Chattanooga area for most of her life and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed taking trips to different Casinos and just enjoying life, but her true passion and drive was taking care of her children and grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great-grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Burnette and sister, Geraldine Caldwell.

Survivors include her five children, Eddie Burnette, Tim Burnette, Regina Sutton, Charlie Burnette and Donna Burnette, all of Chattanooga; three step-daughters, Gail Hilton of Rossville Louise Ratliff of LaFayette, and Susie Peterson of Chattanooga; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Reverend John Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. on Sunday, all day Monday, and prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
