Boyd Barton, age 88, of Summerville, Georgia, died on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Barton was born Oct. 25, 1925, in West Armuchee, Ga., the son of the late Robert Lee Boyd and Viola Rich Boyd. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 129.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Leroy Reynolds, Jr.; four brothers; and three sisters.
Mr. Barton is survived by his brothers, Max Barton of Broken Arrow, Ok., and Jim Barton of Gulf Shores, Al.; step-children, Stella Bice, Dorothy Mann, Helen Wade, David Reynolds, and Johnny Reynolds; grandson, Robert Reynolds; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral arrangements for Mr. Barton are incomplete and will be announced later by Mason Funeral Home.
