The Partnership for Families, Children and Adults, a non-profit organization that provides safe housing, employment services and case management to those affected by domestic violence, raised over $80,000 in December during a matching grant program in partnership with Verizon Wireless. The effort surpassed all previous one-month fundraising efforts by PartnershipFCA.

The matching grant initiative was made possible by Verizon’s HopeLine program, which partners with and funds domestic violence prevention organizations nationwide and connects survivors to vital resources.

Verizon’s $10,000 match was easily met after Hamilton County residents learned about the program and quickly reached and surpassed the goal. Including Verizon’s contribution, the amount raised for PartnershipFCA totaled over $90,000. The funds are directly assisting PartnershipFCA’s Family Violence Center, which provides shelter, transitional housing, counseling, case management and court advocacy to victims of domestic violence and their children.

“We are so proud of our community and so grateful for the overwhelming response we received to the matching grant program with Verizon,” said Sandra Hollett, CEO of Partnership for Families, Children and Adults. “Businesses, organizations, families and individuals went above and beyond the call to give, and the matching grant raised the bar for our December fundraising efforts, helping us finish 2014 in a big way. We are very thankful to Verizon and the community for their support of not only the Partnership, but those affected by domestic violence issues in Hamilton County and surrounding areas.”
