William “Bill” Stephenson, 88, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Thursday night, January 1, 2015 at the family residence.

Mr. Stephenson was the son of the late Dollie Emerson Stephenson and Charles Stephenson; and was also preceded in death by his wife, Marie Stephenson; his brother, Ben Stephenson; his sister, Lucille Morgan; and his half-brothers, Frank, Melford and Virgil Stephenson.

Mr. Stephenson was a U. S. Army Veteran serving in World War II. He retired from Collins Manufacturing with over 30 years of service. He loved to work, listening to music, watching Western’s on Television and working with his mules where his favorite was “George”. Mr. Stephenson attended the Cohulla Baptist Church.

Survivors include his sons, Johnny Stephenson of Cleveland, Ronnie Stephenson and his wife Virginia of Dalton; his grandchildren, Ronald Stephenson and his wife Stephanie of New Hampshire, Lisa Taylor and her husband Billy of Dalton, Benjamin Stephenson and Abigail Stephenson both of Cleveland; his great-grandchildren, Megan and Jacob Taylor; his sisters, Betty Moses and Margie Cross both of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Monday, January 5, at 2 p.m. from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Reverend Isaac Hicks officiating. Interment will follow in the Cohulla Baptist Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as casket bearers. Military Honors will be given.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, January 4 at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
