Hawkins, Clifford (Dalton)

Clifford Hawkins, 98, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the residence of Charles & Pat Hawkins.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Ellen Hawkins; brothers, Gilbert Hawkins, T.K. Hawkins and Willie Hawkins; and grandson, Gary Hawkins.

He attended the Church of God of Prophecy.

Mr. Hawkins is survived by sons & daughters-in-law, Charles & Patricia Hawkins and Jerry & Terr-Ella Hawkins, all of Dalton; sister, Gatha Humbard of Cleveland, TN; granddaughters, Cindy Hawkins, Dionnedrea Hawkins, Shelley Lofty and Misty Brown; great-grandchildren, Austin Center, Christian Center, Garrett Hawkins, Matthew Hawkins, Shain Hamby, Britney Brown and Kayleen Mullins; great-great-grandsons, Eli Cameli, Forrest Center and Brady Hamby; nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to nurse Kim Rice, CNA Lisa Beasley and staff of Northstar Hospice, caretakers, Cindy Hawkins, Dionnedrea Hawkins, Austin Center and Christian Center.

The funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Trotter and Rev. Larry Humbard, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, Oct. 30 from 11 a.m. until the service time at 1 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 922 E. Morris St. Dalton, GA 30720.

Julian Peeples Funeral Home, Pleasant Grove Chapel, Dalton, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
