McCallie’s Bernstein To Travel To Sweden For Nobel Prize Week

McCallie junior day student Steven Bernstein is one of 25 high school students selected from
more than 5,000 applicants by the National Society of High School Scholars to attend Nobel
Prize Week in Stockholm, Sweden Dec. 5-11.

He applied for this experience by submitting an application and essay and getting a
recommendation from McCallie Chemistry and Biology teacher Karah Nazor.

While in Stockholm, he will attend the Nobel Prize Award Ceremonies, the Nobel Lectures, and numerous other festivities taking place in honor of the 2015 Nobel Laureates.

He and the other students from NSHSS, will be hosted by Claes Nobel who is the
grandnephew of Alfred Nobel, the original founder of the Nobel Prize. He has been involved with the NSHSS for some time and was able to tour CIA headquarters in Fairfax, Va., on a
previous event sponsored by the NSHSS.
