Lake Winnie Celebrates Elementary School Achievement

  • Friday, February 20, 2015

Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park has dedicated itself to helping support area schools over its 90 year history. In 2015, the park introduces its new Elementary School Achievement Program to provide teachers for grades K-5 with an incentive program for their students.

“The community has supported Lake Winnepesaukah for 90 years,” said Talley Green of Lake Winnepesaukah. “Our Elementary School Achievement Program is one of our continued ways to give back and support our community schools.”

With the program, classroom teachers in K-5 will receive a pad containing “Certificates of Achievement.” During the final month of classes, teachers may reward their students – for any achievement of their choosing --- with a “Certificate of Achievement,” each of which includes a free Unlimited Ride Ticket for Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park and SoakYa Water Park.

“The program is unique in that it allows the teachers themselves to select the goals for their classroom,” added Ms. Green. “The award can come based on behavior, scholastic achievement, attendance, even overall improvement.”

Teachers who want to participate in the Elementary School Achievement Program are required only to complete and sign a registration form by Feb. 27.

Lake Winnie opens for its 90th season on May 2.  Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park has been recognized as one of “America’s Top Ten Family Amusement Parks” by Travel & Leisure Magazine. For more information, call 706.866-5681, ext. 7242.
