James F. Sliger, 95, of McDonald, TN, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015 in a local health care facility.
He was a self-employed electrician. Mr. Sliger was a veteran of the US Army, having served in World War II in the Pacific during the Philippine Operation and the Battle of Luzon, where he received the Bronze Star.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Florine Sliger.
Survivors include his wife, Osie Sliger of Cleveland; son, James Daryl Sliger and wife, Tonya of Cleveland; daughter, Susan Sliger of Cleveland; grandchildren, Aubrey Sliger and Jonathan Sliger; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at Pine Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Pastor Russ Maroon officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery with Military Honors. Kenneth Suits, Alan Sliger, Jimmy Sliger, Bruce Wilson, Johnny Wilson, and Robert Teague will serve as pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, at Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
