Siskin Children’s Institute, in partnership with the Chattanooga Public Library, will open a Parents’ Corner in the Children’s Department on the second floor of the downtown branch of the library. Leadership from both organizations will come together to celebrate the grand opening on Tuesday, at 5:30 p.m. on the secon floor of the Chattanooga Public Library. The community is invited to attend.
The Parents’ Corner will provide easy access to parenting information and resources for those visiting the library with their children. Resources from the Institute’s collection will be added to the library’s new collection of parenting resources and relocated to this new space at the downtown branch.
“We are excited to partner with the Chattanooga Public Library in providing more information on key parenting topics for parents with children with and without special needs in the Chattanooga area,” said John Farrimond, president and CEO of Siskin Children’s Institute.“Parents and caregivers raising children with special needs deserve all the support they can get and the library is proud to be a part of that network."

The revamped space now includes additional soft furnishings and a playhouse thanks to the generosity of Unum. In addition, new titles will be added to the collection of parenting books and resources, thanks to the support of SunTrust.
