Denver Howard Newton, 64, of Dalton, GA, died on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the Chatsworth Health Care Center.

Denver was born in Ellijay, GA, a son of the late Howard and Lassie Newton; and was also preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Newton.

He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.


He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kathy Newton of the residence; daughter, Kathy Rose Newton of Dalton, GA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David Gunter of Dalton, GA, Betty Shirey of Eton, GA, Lillie Hammac, Linda Gunter, Johnny Gunter Jr. and Brenda Gunter of Dalton, GA; aunts, Edith Kilby of Tunnel Hill, GA, Doris Martin and Dorothy Bicknell of Flowery Branch, GA; and several other in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Denver Howard Newton will be held Sunday, April 26, at 2 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Jarron Mishler officiating. Interment will follow in the Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Chris Shirey, Michael Bates, Johnny Gunter, Joe Wilkins, Chris Campbell and Jacob Flanders serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-9 p.m. on Saturday, April 25 and after 11 a.m. an Sunday, April 26.
