The Lee softball team exploded for six runs in the seventh and scored in every inning but two on its way to a 13-2 victory over Tennessee Temple on Wednesday afternoon from Warner Park.

The Lady Flames registered 19 hits in the contest and move to 29-16 on the year.
Lee wraps up the regular season portion of the schedule this weekend against Gulf South Conference opponent Christian Brothers. The three-game weekend set begins
on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Memphis.

With the bats doing the heavy lifting the Lady Flames got a quality outing from freshman Brianna Eichbaum in the circle. The freshman improved to 5-3 on the year working three scoreless innings. She allowed just one hit and struck out four.

Qiley Lewis led the Lee squad with a career-high four hits in five at bats. The sophomore drove in a run and scored a run. Holley Gray followed with a double, two singles and two RBI.

Five other Lee players produced multi-hit games. Leadoff hitter Amanda Lynn, slugger Kaylie Drew, NiaRaye Ceasar and Rachel Polacek all had two singles. Junior Lexie Dean tripled, singled and scored two runs.

Angie Hughes followed Eichbaum and tossed three innings of relief allowing one run while striking out five. Freshman Leigh Beatenbough came on to pitch the final frame and yielded one run on one hit while punching out five.

The Lady Crusaders managed just three hits off Lee pitching. Sloane Woodward, Taylor Tsai and Carley all singled. Tsai recorded the lone RBI for the home team.
