Helen E. Brody died peacefully and unexpectedly on Thursday, May 28, 2015. 

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and best friend to her daughter, Cindy.

“Sonny” met the love of his life in Rochester, NY.  He and Helen came to Chattanooga once they were married and they continued to work side by side at their family business, Brody Jewelers.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Dora Esbinsky; in-laws, Louis I. and Lillian W. Brody.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Edward “Sonny” Brody; Children,  Michael (Nancy) Brody, Cindy (Ben) Sirota, Louis (Deana) Brody; Grandchildren, Brent and Brittany Sirota, Elizabeth and David Brody, Abigail and Ava Brody; Sister, Shirlee Rothenberg, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be co-officiated by Rabbis Bill Tepper and Susan Tendler on Sunday, May 31, at 2 p.m. at Mizpah Congregation (923 McCallie Avenue.)  Interment will follow at the B’nai Zion Cemetery in Red Bank. 

There will be a Celebration of Life following the burial at the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Mizpah or B’nai Zion Congregations, or the charity of your choice.
