Georgia Department Of Labor Hosts Recruitments In LaFayette And Rome

Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) career centers in LaFayette and Rome will host recruitments on Tuesday to help two Northwest Georgia companies recruit a total of approximately 80 workers.

The Lafayette Career Center will help Mohawk Industries recruit workers for its plants in Lyerly and Summerville in Chattooga County.

The recruitment will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Chattooga County Civic Center located at 44 Highway 48 in Summerville.

Mohawk is recruiting tufting creelers, tufting machine mechanics, tufting machine operators and material handlers.

All positions require at least one year of experience. Due to U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, applicants must be at least 18 years old. A high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required. The company will conduct a background check and drug-screening test on selected applicants.

Salaries range from $12.72 to $16.87 an hour.

The company is also recruiting for additional jobs for which no experience is required. Jobseekers interested in one of these jobs should inquire at the recruitment.

Also on Tuesday, the Rome Career Center will recruit for Miller Zell, a company that specializes in retail store design and development. The recruitment will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the career center located at 462 Riverside Parkway.

Miller Zell is recruiting four field personnel to travel throughout the country installing merchandising and marketing fixtures in retail stores. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED). Previous experience in construction, installation, mechanical operations and computer literacy in Microsoft Project and Outlook is preferred, but not required. The company will conduct a background check.

Salary is $15 an hour, plus travel expenses.
