US Women's National Team Win Victory Tour Opener 8-0

Chattanooga Set To Welcome World Cup Champions Tuesday

The World Cup Champion U.S. Women's National team earned a convincing 8-0 Victory Tour win Sunday afternoon against Costa Rica in Pittsburg, PA.

Christen Press earned a hat trick with three goals, two in the first half and one in the second.

Heather O'Reilly scored two goals including the opening goal in the 4th minute.  USA led 4-0 at the half.

Dianna Diaz and Hope Solo earned the shutout in the goal for USA. 

The game was played at Heinz Field before a standing room only crowd of over 44,000. 

The national team will travel to Chattanooga this week for their second of six games on the Victory Tour.  

The US women will take on Costa Rica Wednesday at Finley Stadium starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will be televised national on ESPN2. 

Team USA will hold an open practice on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Finley.  

The World Cup trophy will be on display Monday from 12-2 at Waterhouse Pavilion and from 4-6 p.m. at Zales Jewelry at Hamilton Place Mall. 

Fans can also see the trophy on game day from 2:30-7 p.m. at FanHQ at Finley Stadium.
