TVA’s Regional Resource Stewardship Council To Meet In Knoxville

The Tennessee Valley Authority’s Regional Resource Stewardship Council will meet Monday and Tuesday in Knoxville to review TVA’s natural resource activities and partnerships.

The 20-member council will receive updates on TVA’s stewardship initiatives, floating houses, dam projects and encroachment management.

The two-day meeting will be open to the public and held at TVA headquarters, 400 W. Summit Hill Dr. in Knoxville. The council will meet on Monday from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
and on Tuesday from 8-11:45 a.m.  A public comment session is scheduled at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

The council was created in 1999 by the TVA board of directors to gain stakeholder input in the important decisions TVA makes about managing the river and its ecosystem. TVA has responsibility for over 11,000 miles of shoreline, 650,000 acres of water and 293,000 acres of public land across the Tennessee Valley.

Anyone interested in making comments during the public listening period should register at the door by 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Handout materials should be limited to one printed page.
