Chattanooga State will add a little extra fun to its 2016-2017 basketball season on Friday with a spirit-filled Tiger Tailgate Party beginning at 3 p.m. in the Omniplex Parking lot. Tiger Tailgate Party is free and open to the public who may tailgate as well.  Attendees also won’t want to miss WGOW and the Sport Talk team who will be on hand to do a live remote, officials said.

The Athletic and Student Activities departments sponsor Tiger Tailgate Party, designed to build team spirit and strengthen support of the 69 athletes that make up ChattState’s basketball, softball, and baseball teams. “We want to support our student athletes and make an impact on young lives,” said Dr. Flora Tydings, Chattanooga State president.

To ensure safety for all and promote fun that tailgating cultivates, the following items are prohibited: alcoholic beverages, glass containers, open fires, and couches/upholstered furniture. Electrical outlets are not available.

Tiger Tailgate Party concludes with the matchup between the Tigers and the Bucks of Motlow State Community College. The Men tip off at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Women who take the court at
7:30 p.m. Game day tickets are $5 per person and available at the door. Children 12 years of age or under and Chattanooga State students with a current ID get in free. Tickets for any home games during the fall and spring seasons may be purchased for $25 at the door during any home game, or in the Chattanooga State Bursar’s Office, located in the Student Center, during regular business hours.

Tailgaters may reserve a space by contacting Joyce Stakely at 423-697-2652 or joyce.stakely@chattanoogastate.edu.
