Doris Griffith
Doris Jacqueline Griffith, 85 of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, died on Friday, November 4, 2016 in Corryton, Tennessee.
She was born May 1, 1931, in Easley, S.C., to the late Essie Thompson and Allen G. Day, Sr.
Mrs. Griffith was a member of Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church and the Eagles Wings Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the American Society of Women Accountants.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Warner Griffith, and brothers, Glen Day and Fred Day.
She is survived by her children, Stephen (Debbie) Griffith of Knoxville, Susan (Bob) Griffith Tebbitt of Chattanooga, and Scott (Laura) Griffith of Ellijay; sisters, Leona (George) Widener of Chattanooga and Bertie (Clayton) Stewart of Signal Mountain; grandchildren, Carrie, Justin, Katie, Christopher, Samantha, and Marcus; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Samuel, Sarah Elizabeth, and Ella Kate.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Nov. 7, from 9-11 a.m. at the North Chapel.
Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church with Dr. William Dudley and Reverend Margaret Ferguson officiating.
