Nothing has changed over the holidays for Bradley Central’s Bearettes.

The unbeaten Bearettes, who won their first 12 games prior to the break, knocked off Daniel Boone 61-46 for victory No. 13 Wednesday night in the 28th Andrew Johnson Bank Ladies’ Classic in Greeneville.

Halle Hughes poured in a game-high 23 points on 9 of 15 shooting. She was 4 of 6 from 3-point distance and Bradley went 9 of 17 for 52.9 percent behind the arc.

Howard posted another double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds, seven on the defensive boards. Howard, a junior, also had seven assists, seven steals and three turnovers.

The highly coveted point guard hit 8 of 14 shots, including 3 of 5 3-pointers.

Bradley had a 30-24 rebounding edge.

Bayleigh Carmichel paced the Lady Eagles with 12 points and Sydney Pearce had 10 rebounds.

The Bearettes zone pressure defense forced 20 turnovers, five each by Macie Culbertson and Jaycie Jenkins. Bradley had an impressive 27-7 scoring edge as a result of the Daniel Boone (10-4) miscues.

Bradley also outscored the Lady Eagles 14-2 on second-chance opportunities.

The Bearettes advance to Thursday's quarterfinals and will play the Dobyns-Bennett at 5:30 p.m. at the Hal Henard Gym.
