Hugo Kirk, 87, of Chickamauga, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, April 15, 2016. 

He was an Army veteran and a member of the Atlanta Sheet Metal Local 85 for over 60 years. Mr. Kirk lived most of his adult life in the Atlanta area. He enjoyed working in his yard and gardening, spending time with his family, and traveling. He was of the Baptist faith.

One grandchild, Bryan Kirk precedes him in death.

Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Jean Mathis Kirk, three sons, Hugo Kirk Jr., Charles “Tony” Kirk, John (Lynn) Kirk; and daughter, Angela (Earl) White, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, April 29, in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family requests no flowers and that contributions be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the graveside service at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
