East Ridge Advances To Region Soccer Final With 3-2 Win

The East Ridge boys soccer team advanced to the region championship on Tuesday with a 3-2 win over visiting Loudon at Camp Jordan Park.  

East Ridge's Adam Adem opened the scoring with a goal midway through the first half with an assist by Rijad Kazic.

In the 35th minute, Adem was tackled in the box resulting in a red card for the Loudon keeper and a penalty kick for East Ridge. 

Hunter Schobert converted on the penalty kick to give the Pioneers a 2-0 lead and a man advantage. 

Loudon's Jesus Medina and Fransisco Aguilera scored two second half goals to tie the game. 

With 10 minutes left in the game, Coy Vandergriff assisted Adem on the game winner sending East Ridge to the region championship. 

East Ridge will host Boyd-Buchanan on Thursday at Camp Jordan at 7 p.m. 

Boyd-Buchanan beat Red Bank on Monday in their region semifinal match.
