Local Meals On Wheels Partners With World Changers To Deliver Food To Seniors

  • Monday, July 11, 2016

The Meals on Wheels program is partnering with World Changers for the fourth year in a row to “Pack the Pantry” for some of the Hamilton County Meals on Wheels participants. Youth groups from across the country are in town as part of the annual World Changers service project and will spend additional hours in the evening delivering food items to area residents.

Mostly homebound and often lacking daily interaction with others, Meals on Wheels participants welcome visits from groups such as World Changers.

The Meals on Wheels program provides a noontime, nutritionally balanced meal to senior adults and is administered locally by the Southeast Tennessee Area Agency on Aging and Disability/Southeast Tennessee Development District. The Southeast Tennessee Area Agency serves the 10 county region of Southeast Tennessee.

For more information on the Meals on Wheels program, call 866.836-6678.
