Classes Offered On Safely Preserving Foods

The University of Tennessee Extension- Hamilton County is offering a Food Preservation class on Aug. 9.  Participants can choose from the 10 a.m.-noon class or 6-8 p.m. class.

The class covers the basics of safely preserving food, including jams and jellies, use of waterbath and pressure canners, blanching, pickling, and more. The $20 fee includes reference materials, food samples, and door prizes. 

Registration deadline is Aug. 5th.  Make a check payable to University of Tennessee Extension and mail it to UT Extension at 6183 Adamson Circle, Chattanooga, TN 37416 or deliver payment between 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
