FSG Bank Announces A Community Development And Lending Division In Dalton

FSG Bank, a division of Atlantic Capital Bank, N.A., announced Tuesday an expansion of its business banking and community lending activities in Dalton with the promotion of two of its bankers. The team will work as community development lenders serving clients in Dalton and its surrounding communities.

The new unit includes Juan Maldonado Rodriguez who brings 10 years of banking experience in the market. Mr. Rodriguez has worked in many different roles at FSG Bank, from part-time teller to assistant branch manager.

 He has also served as a mentor, developing new associates in the Dalton/Chattanooga area.  In his new role, Mr. Rodriguez will serve as assistant vice president, community development banker in the Dalton area and will function as a liaison between FSG Bank and the community. 

Among various community initiatives, Mr. Rodriguez will host financial literacy seminars and serve as a multicultural banker working with the Bank’s City President Kevin Brunson, in establishing partnerships with area organizations with a focus on education, job creation, and affordable housing. Mr. Rodriguez will work to generate referrals for business opportunities in mortgage, small business and commercial lending. His efforts in the Dalton region will be part of the Bank’s ongoing commitment to investing in the communities it serves, officials said.  A graduate of Dalton State College and a community advocate, Mr. Rodriguez is actively involved with several local organizations including; the United Way of Northwest Georgia, Coalicion de Lideres Lations and Saint Joseph Catholic Church.

Ivelisse Perez is the second member of the FSG Bank community development team.  She brings 15 years of mortgage lending experience with financial firms across the country.  She most recently served as a Mortgage Loan Officer at FSG Bank providing residential loan origination for clients in the Dalton area and the ability to serve bilingual customers. In her new role Ms. Perez will serve as a Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) mortgage loan officer, focusing on the bank’s CRA loans and low to moderate income borrowers. She will work with first time home buyers to help them obtain down payment assistance funds, as well as customize mortgage solutions for clients from loan origination to closing.

Her solid experience working with diverse communities is a tremendous benefit as we move forward to enhance our loan origination services in this market. I am delighted that she has taken on this role,” said Jill Green, senior vice president and managing director of mortgage banking.

Ms. Perez graduated from the University of Puerto Rico and started her career at R. G. Mortgage in Puerto Rico. She is a member of the Greater Dalton Chamber of Commerce and the Carpet Capital Association of Realtors.

The FSG Bank Community Development team will be located at the Dalton Main office at 401 South Thornton Ave. in Dalton.
