UAB Chamber Trio To Present Recital Oct. 19

The UAB Chamber Trio will present a guest chamber recital on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall, Fine Arts Center, UTC.

The trio consists of University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Music faculty members Dr. Denise Gainey, clarinet; Dr. James Zingara, trumpet; and Dr. Chris Steele, piano. The group was established in 2012 and has performed throughout Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia, including appearances at the Alabama Music Educators Conference, the College Music Society Southern Region Conference, the Birmingham Arts Music Alliance and the National Association of Composers USA Conference.

In October, the UAB Chamber Trio is selected to perform a feature recital at the joint NACWPI/CMS National Conference in Santa Fe, NM. This program will feature several of the ensemble’s newly commissioned works by Jeffrey Boehm, William Price, Virginia Samuel, Juan Maria Solare, and Christopher Steele.
