Leon D. “Lee” Morgan, 77, of Cleveland, died on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at his home with his family by his side.     

He was born Nov. 12, 1938, in Ooltewah, to the late Evans and Lem Morgan. He attended Meadow View Elementary and graduated from Ooltewah High School.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1963-1967 where he was stationed in South Dakota and Germany.  He worked and retired after 32 years of service from the TNT Plant in Chattanooga. 

He was a member of Clingan Ridge Baptist church but was unable to attend in the last few years due to being the caregiver of his loving wife and sister.  He loved Christ, his family, and his church family.  Through the years he enjoyed being a little league baseball coach.  He loved sports and nothing made him happier than watching his son and grandson play.  He also loved working in the garden and fishing. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Tommy Morgan, Doc Morgan, Jack Morgan and Harry Morgan, and sisters, Lillie Mae Farrior and Mary Lee Morgan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Geraldine “Jerri” Morgan; his son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Kelley Morgan; his grandson and wife, B. J. & Dena’ Morgan; two great-grandsons, Cal and Beau Morgan, all of Cleveland; sisters, Viola Morgan of Ooltewah, Bessie (Leon) Lowe of Cleveland, and Joyce (Ronnie) Harden of McDonald; and numerous other family members and friends. 

The family will receive friends on Friday, Sept. 30, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will follow at 7 p.m. in the Valley View Chapel with Reverend Clint Ledford officiating.   

Interment will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, at 9 a.m. at the Old McDonald Cemetery in Harrison. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
