Shirley Lane
Shirley Ruth Lane, 84, died on Friday, September 9, 2016.
Shirley was the wife of Edwin Frank Lane. Shirley and Ed shared 63 wonderful years of marriage together. Shirley lived at the Bridge in Ooltewah with Ed. Shirley was born in her home in Syracuse, Nebraska on December 17, 1931. She was the daughter of Dr. Walter and Goldine Kendle who preceded her in death. Shirley was a stay at home mother who was devoted to her family. Shirley had a kind heart and a loving spirit that was evident to all that knew her. Her faith in the Lord was an inspiration to her family and friends.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Edwin Lane; sons and daughers-in-law, Dan and Mary Lane, Maryville, TN, and Bill and Laura Lane, Chattanooga; her granddaughter, Sarah Lane Paone and husband Scott Paone; granddaughters, Holly Lane and Abby Lane and fiancé Sam Carmichael; and great-grandson, Elijah Paone; brother, Donald Kendle, Lincoln, NE, and sister, Doris Scharf and husband, John Scharf, Curtis, NE.
Services will be on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Dr. David Eubanks and Gary Armes officiating. Burial will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery Wednesday Sept. 14, at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Johnson University, 7900 Johnson Drive, Knoxville, Tn. 37998.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga Tn. 37421.
