Clara Mae Edwards, 86, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017 in a local hospital. 

 She was preceded in death by two daughters, Gearldine Edwards Stodghill and Vivian Edwards O’Rock Sims. 

Survivors include two daughters, Dr. Sarah (Pastor Dr. Jessie) Broadnax and Betty Dozier; three sons, Haywood Edwards, Jr., Dr. Lloyd Edwards, and Lebron Edwards; brothers, John Ed Hurt, Robert and Nathaniel Patton; sister, Rachel Patton; grandchildren, Tonya Whaley, Syletta (Valius) Edwards, Shandrika Laster, Tremaine Edwards, Kalimba Edwards, Stone Edwards, Aarika Camp, Cecil Stodghill, Terri Jackson, and Jessica Broadnax; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; very special friends, Catherine Williams, Mattie Sue Crawford, cousin/sister, Buel Walker; and many loved ones. 

Special thanks to Alexian Brothers PACE Program and long term caregivers, Lois Phelps and Kianna Baker with Bright Star. 

Visitation is on Friday, Jan. 13, from 6-7 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, Jan. 14, at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Dr. Jessie Broadnax as the eulogist. Burial in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
