Local Teacher Quits Job, Launches New Approach

Bridge The Divide Teacher Conference Coming Feb. 16

Former East Ridge High School math teacher, Chris Morris, on Friday announced that he will host the Bridge the Divide teacher conference on Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Edney, Floor Five Community Space. The conference is an opportunity for local educators to hear about a fresh way to approach teaching when dealing with unmotivated students.

Attendees will hear case studies tied to real results and discover new possibilities for their practice,s aid Mr. Morris. The conference – which will launch Mr. Morris’ character education consulting business, the Morrissey Model – will serve as an experience to strengthen the teacher/student relationship. 

“Whether you’re a teacher, principal, or community member strongly vested in education, this conference is designed to address the root cause of the issues seen in today’s classrooms," said Mr. Morris.  "Our team is here to breathe life and hope into our classrooms and help teachers love their job.  We’re going to give an edge to teachers to better connect them to their students. Join us as we cast a vision of what’s possible for you and your students. Let’s bridge the divide.”
