Missing Smoke Alarms At Bradley County Courthouse?

Sunday, October 1, 2017

I may be wrong about my first guess about the courthouse fire. If so, I'll say I was wrong. But let's look at what's known so far.

Fire in the mechanical room of the courthouse. Where's the smoke alarm?

Smoke throughout the entire courthouse. Where's the smoke alarms?

Extensive damage to interiors. Where's the smoke alarms?

No sprinkler system, no smoke alarms, no fire alarms.

Thanks to someone smelling smoke, the fire was extinguished.

Damage to the courthouse, damage to computer systems, damage to records. Thousands will be spent of taxpayers' money to cleanup the mess.

Yet no one in county government had the foresight to install fire and smoke alarms.

Simply brilliant.

Reasons To Choose Another Sewer Treatment Plant Site

The Hamilton County Commission is being asked to make a tough decision when it comes to the location of the WWTA WWTP. Why WWTA's Plan Should Be Discarded

Thanks to a live feed, I was able to watch about three hours of the very important Hamilton County Commission meeting on Dec. 12 while in Alabama. One thing we can all agree on is that they have to do something, the question is what is the best for all. ... (click for more)

Mocs Fall On Buzzer Beater At UT-Martin

The Chattanooga Mocs lost 75-72 in heart-breaking fashion at UT Martin. A buzzer-beater topped a late dramatic effort of their own by Jerry Johnson, Jr. Down three, 72-69, with the shot clock off, the Mocs worked the ball to Johnson on the wing. He drifted to his right, shot faked and then lofted a three that tickled the twine to knot the score at 72-all. The game was headed ... (click for more)
