Covenant Ranked Regionally By The NCAA

For the first time in the program's NCAA Division III era, the Covenant volleyball team has achieved a region ranking from the NCAA. The Lady Scots are ranked No. 8 in this week's poll, the first one of the 2017 season.

Covenant is off to a 15-7 start, including a 9-0 mark against the USA South. The Lady Scots have won seven straight matches, and 12 of the last 13 overall.
The only loss during the recent stretch came to current national rank No. 10 Emory.


The Lady Scots have had contributions from up and down the roster all season long. As a team, Covenant is fourth in the USA South in kills per set at 11.71 and second in the league in both digs per set (18.60) and assists per set (10.88). Both Ginny Moore and Schuyler Moore have earned USA South Player of the Week honors this season.

Covenant is one of two USA South teams ranked regionally as Averett sits at No. 3. The Lady Scots will face Berry, the No. 1-ranked region team, on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. inside Barnes PE Center.
