Brock Insurance Agency, the largest locally-owned and operated independent insurance agency in the region, celebrates 54 years of helping businesses and individuals with their insurance needs.

“We are so proud to have been a part of this great community for 54 years, and it’s truly exciting to see where our business is today.  The next generation of leaders within our agency continues to push us into new areas we never thought possible,” BIA President Mark Brock said. “If you ask other agencies what their number one long-term planning issue is, most will say ‘succession.’ The insurance industry has a huge age gap where principals and owners are nearing retirement and don’t have anyone to pass their business to. We’re fortunate that our agency leadership secured for the next 30 to 50 years.”

Partners Trae Vaughan, Ramsey Brock, Keith Davis and Justin White along with young producers John Brock and Tucker Compton are bringing new, fresh solutions to an agency that has roots back to the early 60s. The insurance industry can be slower to adapt to current trends in the market, but BIA has made it a priority to continually evolve and explore new ways to serve their customers.

“We are very fortunate to have the flexibility within our business model to consistently progress different areas of our agency, whether it’s partnering with a local real estate firm, enhancing our customer’s experience, joining Georgia Agency Partners (an exclusive network of Georgia agencies), hiring specialized producers, or building an in house captive to offer out of the box solutions,” said Ramsey Brock, vice president of marketing and operations. “Competition is extremely tough in Chattanooga, and if you don’t stay ahead of the curve, you will fall behind fast. This is our legacy and our customers appreciate the fact that we stay on top of the latest advances to ensure their risks are covered properly.”

“We have grown our personal lines business significantly over the past 10 years by building a more streamlined system to gather information, build proposals, and present clients with multiple options depending on their coverage needs,” said Keith Davis, partner and vice president of Personal Lines. “We have also brought on additional insurance carriers, created new partnerships, and are looking at potential acquisitions which will provide us with even more tools and resources to service our customers.”

Company leaders say their long running success can be attributed to the strong foundation built over the past 50 years and staying loyal to customers. “We have a number of customers who have been with us for decades. We make in-house decisions, which is unique in the industry,” said Trae Vaughan, partner and vice president of Commercial Lines.

Justin White, partner of Brock & Spencer Benefits said, “We like what being an independent agency not only does for us, but does for our clients. All decisions are made in house, and we have the ability to react to changes in the market quickly, which benefits everyone involved. Having a defined succession plan in all phases of our service model gives us the peace of mind, so that we can continue to evolve with the right people and strategies, bringing more value to our current customer base and allowing us to earn the business of new customers as well.”

Mark Brock said, “Our partners have a vision of where they want to take the agency, and I am excited as to where it is heading.”
