Dalton State Men's And Women's Golf In 2nd After First Round In Florida

The Dalton State men's and women's soccer teams are both tied for 2nd after the first round of the Georgetown College Invitational at Slammer & Squire Golf Course in St. Augustine, FL.

WOMEN'S INVITATIONAL
The #3 Dalton State women shot a team total of 304 and sit 13 shots behind two-time defending National Champion and #4 Keiser.  The Lady Roadrunners lead over #9 SCAD-Atlanta in 3rd is rather substantial at 22 shots.  Freshman Tia Teiniketo led the way for the Lady Roadrunners with a 74.  Teiniketo was followed in scoring by All-Americans Katie Dalton (75) and Caroline Griffin (77).  Rounding out counting scores for Dalton State was Isabel Rijos with 78.  Haejin Choe shot 81 as the fifth Lady Roadrunner, while Hannah Gasaway shot 74 playing as an individual.

MEN'S INVITATIONAL
The #3 Dalton State men shot a team total of 296 and trail 1st place Indiana Tech by 1 stroke heading into the final round tomorrow.  The Roadrunners advantage over 3rd-place and fellow SSAC member William Carey sits at 5 strokes.  S.M.
Lee
 led the way with an even-par 72 to share 4th-place.  Ben Rebne (73) and Sport Allmond (74) join Lee in the top 10.  P.J. Shields, getting his first action of the year for the Roadrunners, was the final counting score in the clubhouse with a 5-over 77.  Chase Cole and Adam Morris played exceptionally well as individuals.  Cole carded a 72 while Morris fired 73 as both players cracked the top 10.

The Dalton State golf teams will be back in action tomorrow, February 20 in the final round of the Georgetown College Invitational from St. Augustine, FL.
