Howard, Charlotte Kay (Cleveland)

Charlotte Kay Howard, 68, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the family residence.

 She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. She was passionate about spending time with her family especially her pride and joy, great-granddaughter, Nevaeh.  She enjoyed gardening, her flowers and being outdoors.  She loved her quiet morning time on the porch.

Mrs. Howard was the daughter of the late Richard Barnes and Dorothy Barnes; and was also preceded in death by her siblings, Eugene Barnes and Sharon Mink.

She is survived by her husband, Arlen Gene Howard of Cleveland; children, Pamela Karlsen and partner Linda Boyd of McDonald, TN, Stephen Eugene Howard of Athens, TN and Arlen Dale Howard and wife, Jill of Romeoville, IL; grandchildren, Charlotte Karlsen and husband, Timothy of Cleveland, TN and Blake Howard of Cleveland, TN; siblings, Patricia Robinson, Debra Laughing (Barnes), Paula Brown (Barnes), Keith Barnes and Rex Barnes; great-granddaughter, Nevaeh; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 23, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Joe White officiating.

Interment will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 24, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Ralph Buckner Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
