Yarbrough, Vivian (Athens)

Vivian Yarbrough, 87, of Athens, Tennessee, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. 

She was a lifelong resident of Athens except for a few years when she lived in Florida.  She was a member of Christ Community Church.  She was the proprietor Country Décor and the Cottage Antiques and Collectibles and was a long time member of the Athens Garden Club.  In her younger years, she was a contributor to the The Daily Post-Athenian newspaper.  She was a delightful, friendly woman who loved and served her husband and family.  She enjoyed taking them camping and hiking across the United States.  She never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, John Sherrod Yarbrough; parents, Floyd Dexter Webb and Brucie Mae Small Webb; and sister, Virginia Jane Webb Henry.

She is survived by three children, Floyd Lindsey Yarbrough and wife Sheila of Athens, John Sherrod Yarbrough and wife Niki of McMinn County and Phyllis Jane Rogers and husband Randy of Riceville; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Floyd Dexter Webb.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Etowah Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. at the Ralph Buckner Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
