Trammell, Ernest Samuel, Sr. (Summerville)

Ernest Samuel Trammell, Sr., 74, of Summerville, Georgia, died on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Redmond Regional Medical.

Mr. Trammell was born Sept. 23, 1942, in Trion, Ga., son of the late Willie Samuel and Alene Walters Trammell.  He was Holiness by faith, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Mount Vernon Mills.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Sherman Trammell, Junior Trammell, and Ray Trammell; sisters, Sherlene Trammell and Evelene Trammell.

Mr. Trammell is survived by his wife, Dorthy Trammell; sons and daughter-in-law, Sammy and Shannon Trammell, Jimmy Watson; daughter, Wanda Watson; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Charlene Trammell; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Trammell will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kevin J. Norton officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Ladon Trammell, Corey Watson, Chris Watson, Nathan Dunn, Brandon Watson, and David Parris.

Mr. Trammell will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the hour of service on Thursday.
